It was discovered in 1827 by the English rulers while climbing the mountain, and then it laid the foundation of this hill station. Initially built in 1838, this colonial masterpiece has stood there for more than 150 years. It now serves as a hotel, complete with all the modern amenities and comforts. Cloud End used to be the home of British Major F. Swetenham but is now a contemporary hotel. As one of the first four buildings in Mussoorie, the building looks magnificent engulfed in wooded areas. With the modern facilities, Cloud End is the perfect combination of historical significance and natural beauty. It’s located about 7 km west of Mussoorie.

Camel’s Back Road – Mussoorie Tourist Places

The camel’s back road is named as such since the natural rock in camel form is found at its end; this is the reason for its name. There is nothing better than seeing the beautiful scenery surrounding it on this road. Kulri Bazar and Library Point are about 3 km, making the trip very quick and convenient. As a bonus, you can also stroll past a cemetery built in the 19th century if you are a haunted person. From here, one can see snow-covered mountains in the Himalayas; nearby shops have set up telescopes for tourists to see them in greater detail. How can you reach Mussoorie?

 

By Flight

Mussoorie does not have an airport, so no direct flights reach the mountain town. But you can fly to Jolly Grant airport in Dehradun, situated 82 km away from Mussoorie. You can get a taxi directly to Mussoorie from the airport once you leave.

By Train 

Mussoorie is not conveniently accessible by direct trains, although you can take one until Dehradun. There Are Many Trains From All Major Cities Of India To Dehradun Railway Station. You can easily take a train to Dehradun and then take a taxi to Mussoorie.

By Road 

Highways connect Dehradun to other parts of the country. From Mussoorie, you need to turn toward the Tehri bypass before driving down the Mussoorie-Chamba road.
